H2 Finale

I went to the taping of the last week of H2 today and can make a few comments (I'm not going to post any spoilers, but I'll make general commentary)

They called it in a manner of speaking H2 All-Stars, since the celebs were the favourites of the producers (you can guess who they booked)  All the celebs were very good and each made a few memorable moments.  Several memorable moments in terms of gameplay, as well as the jokes from the celebs (one involved a guest question presenter).

The farewell was very emotional (it was truly emotional, and fitting for H2).  Its on par with a number of past game show finales.   The last week of shows has a tone very similar to another show we all know and adored's final show (I won't say too much more for fear of spoiling it)

This week of shows is a definate keeper when they air.  I don't think you'll ever see another GS go out in its final week like they did.

On a side note:

Henry Winkler is a definate class act.  I never though that he could pull off HS like he did, but he really surprised me with how he pulled off H2 for 2 great years.

The way the shows were produced today shows that Winkler and Co. really learned alot about how the show functioned, and I think given some more time, they could have made it go longer.  They realised that you don't need a-list celebs to have a great show.  The people they got (and I must say Martin Mull was just as good as Paul Lynde in the center square) were generally good, and really enjoyed the show.

Overall, I'd give this finale 8 out of 10.

The finale airs June 4.

Something rather big happens in one episode of the week, as well as setting up the humour for the finale, so I'd definately tape the whole week, you will NOT be disappointed.

I'll second this. I wasn't there myself, alas, but the reports that I have received have all indicated that it's Good Stuff all week long, and worth the time. I will be Tivoing appropriately.

Question, does anywhere online besides this board have such reports?  Second...yes it was inevitable that I'd ask...did my "wish" come true at last in these last episodes?

I was there, as well, and it really was a week to remember with so many great times. During some points of the show, I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard, honestly. All I can say is, this week is a keeper, and what a way to go out!

...and yes, the end was very emotional, I wanted to cry, and my sister teared up pretty bad. It was not only the heart-touching speeches given by the executive producers, but the fact that this is really the end of a glorious run that brought joy and laughter to so many.

Thank you for six wonderful years. =)

It's kinda hard to believe it's over. It was on for six great years, and now it's over.

*raises his glass*

Here's to everyone who made it possible. Henry Winkler, Tom Burgeron, The Whoopster, Martin Mull, all the celebrities, and all the staff.

It's been fun.

I was pleased to join Jason and the mob for the last show.  What a week.  Gutbusting laughter all day.  AND I got to take home a used question card as a souvenir.

And if THAT wasn't enough, I make a cameo at the top of the final show, holding a sign that says "Tom Bergeron Still Rules."

And he does.

Godspeed, H2.  See ya next time around.

Besides ending their six season run this season, H2 will also be airing their 1000th show soon, no? The last show will be show 1050.

It will air 1,000 soon, however...

The finale was episode 6180 (which means the 180th ep of that season or 36 weeks)

And I still hope one in particular was my obvious favorite (think "obvious" is the operative word here, so I shall say no more)

I was there too :)

It was *the* most wonderful week for us to end with...a special and final theme week, which to my knowledge has not been done before on any show for a complete week.   I don't think we have ever had more fun during a tape day.  It certainly helped soften the emotions of the end of the day.

PS to Zach: the last show was 1060 by our count - one season with 160, five seasons with 180.

Thank God, because you've said it about six times now, and it's getting old.

I'm a fan of Caroline Rhea, but I'm at the point where I'm almost wishing she doesn't return simply because you wish it.
